Welcome Message from the Chair of the
Undergraduate Student Program Committee

Greetings Chemical Engineering Students
On behalf of everyone at the University of Ottawa, I would like to welcome
you to the CSChE 2008 Undergraduate Student Program. Ottawa has many fantastic opportunities and we
hope you will join us to benefit from them. We have been working tirelessly since the 2007 conference
to bring you the best student program the CSChE has ever seen.
Student Program
We’re planning a fully–loaded, professional student
program. Activities and seminars will run all day, so you can get the most of your money. Most
sessions will be career oriented and will provide useful information for all chemical engineering
students.
Competitions
The competitions are sure to showcase Canada’s best engineering
talents; winners of the SNC Lavalin Plant Design Competition will have the opportunity to participate in the
international competition in 2009. Activities will also promote intermingling with professional and
student attendees. The graduate poster session has been opened to undergraduates.
Career Fair
The career fair will be the largest of any previous CSChE conferences,
with more companies and great networking opportunities; submit your resume by September 22,
2008. All résumés will be sent to Career Fair Employer participants prior to the
conference who will review them and schedule interviews during the conference.
Plant Tours
Pre-scheduled plant tours will showcase Ottawa’s signature
technology: the renewable energy sectors, as well as government research facilities.
Social Events
The banquet will be exquisite and the social events epic. All these
events will be tied into the participation award, which has been specially designed to
maximize student attendance!
Bring your coveralls if you have them, or other school spirit
paraphernalia, we want to see your pride in your school! We’ve got a great team that is working
around the clock to give you the most memorable conference of your university careers and they want nothing
more then to share it with you. We look forward to seeing you!
