Welcome Message to Graduate Students
On behalf of the graduate student
organizing committee, I'd like to welcome you to the 58th Canadian Chemical Engineering Conference. We
look forward to showcasing the beautiful city of Ottawa this fall, home to two universities, the federal
government and numerous industry leaders. In this diverse environment, research thrives through
co-operations and the exchange of ideas.
We have a full and exciting program for
you! Make sure to arrive early on Sunday afternoon to hear our guest speaker at the graduate student
welcoming session. Afterwards, career fair presentations will provide an exciting opportunity to hear
from leading edge companies and ample time to network with representatives and explore your career
options! Make sure to submit your
resume by September 22, 2008 to be considered for on-site interviews.
Come and compete on Monday evening for
the chance to win a cash prize in our student poster competition! Then relax during a social dinner
followed by a bar night out with fellow students and professionals in the trendy Byward Market.
The main conference technical program is
sure to satisfy diverse intellectual interests. If you’d like a break during the day, we welcome
you to join us on group day trips to national tourist attractions and research centers.
On Tuesday, come to feast and network at
the Canadian Museum of Civilization featuring 1,000 years of Canadian history and located along the banks of
the picturesque Ottawa River overlooking Parliament (included in your registration!).
Thank you in advance for your
participation, and please don’t hesitate to contact me for further information. I wish you an
enjoyable stay in our nation’s capital
